We've Moved!

Parker and I now live in Pleasant Grove, and so far it's been great! We got our new sectional in and it fits perfectly! (When we picked it up and brought it home, we were so excited to unwrap it and set it up. Parker had been working on it while I was in the kitchen and said he couldn't figure out how the two pieces were supposed to go together. I looked over it for a second and realized they gave us two of the same piece! Sad day. We got it all straightened out with customer service and they delivered the right piece and picked up the other one a few days later, but we were a little disappointed that day.)

We haven't had much trouble with commuting to school, but it's only been 3 days so hopefully everything will continue to go smoothly. We do have to wake up a few minutes earlier, but nothing too horrible.

On Saturday Parker's grandparents will be coming to assist us in patching nail holes in the wall and re-caulking in the bathrooms, among other things. Once that's done, I can figure out where to hang things and take pictures to show all of you, my devoted readers. haha... :)

In other news, I started my job at the MTC last week! It was great! I have wonderful coworkers and so far I haven't messed anything up too badly (as far as I know). I only work Thursdays and Fridays, 10 hours total... but it's just enough to keep me busy but not too stressed. I work with the student employees in checking references on applications, doing the hiring paperwork process, and making sure everyone's hours are correct. Last Friday was actually Semi-Annual Clean-up Day... a monumental occasion for sure. On this day, most everyone working in the offices gets to wear jeans (as opposed to traditional missionary attire). Everyone is supposed to spend part of the day cleaning out files and such. Also, these privileged people get cookies and various drinks passed out to them. I was lucky enough to be the person who delivers this good cheer. It took me and another girl nearly 3 hours to go to all the different offices with our carts piled high, but we had fun doing it. I think I kind of understand how Santa feels because some people's faces would just light up with excitement at the thought of cookies and chocolate milk. It was great. :)

Parker is still working away with Living Scriptures. He had a big manager training meeting last Saturday and was VERY motivated when he returned. He and his team will be going to Florida this Summer! What an adventure! Another highlight for Parker is that Papa Murphy's is across the street from us. He discovered that just before they close at 9:00 you can get any of their already made pizza's half off. I think it's his new favorite food. Anytime I say anything about not knowing what to cook or being SO hungry, he mentions that we could get pizza. He jokes that he will become one of those customer that all the workers know. If we're not careful it might happen! :)

I guess that's all. I don't know if this was very exciting to read, but I thought it had been a while since I'd posted... so that's all, folks!

Great Day!

Yesterday was one of those days where I just couldn't help but smile! Parker and I got great news about our house! We were planning on closing and signing papers and everything on Wednesday (which is our busiest day, and we would have had to miss important classes, so we were having a hard time with our schedules) which would have given us 1 day to move out of our apartment and clean it and everything. This was a little stressful. After the phone call, we found our the seller needed to close earlier, on Friday! That's great for us because that means we can start moving on Tuesday! That will be so much better. I'm so glad.

Right after that phone call I walked to class and got a phone call just before class would start. It was a number I didn't recognize and normally I wouldn't have answered it right then, but for some reason... I did. I'm so glad I did, because it was the lady I interviewed with at the MTC about 2 months ago. She basically said they needed someone for about 10 hours a week and really wanted me for the job. I was so excited! I'll get to work on special projects with my friend, Kristin, in the human resource department. It's not a lot of hours, but I've got 15 credits and I don't know if I could do much more than that. Anyways, I start next Thursday (in the middle of moving) and I can't wait!

I couldn't help but smile to myself as I was sitting in my drug abuse class. What a great day!
