"Hot Hot Date"

This past Saturday Parker and I had a great double date with our friends John and Kristin. We went to the BYU football game, had dinner at Texas Roadhouse (definately a favorite!!) and went to the conference center theater to see "The Savior of the World." It was awesome!!! I highly recommend it. Parker really liked it too. Overall it was really great, fun filled day.

Our Weekend

It's funny how some weekends seem to be pretty open with no real plans, but yet our time just gets filled up! He're what kept us busy this weekend.

Friday:
-Breakfast at Kneaders with Parker's cousin, Chris, who was in town from California.
-Class (sort of... both of our classes ended up being cancelled, but Parker didn't know it until he got there.)
-Maren had a fun reunion/get-together with friends from high school to chat and catch up.
-Grandma Hilton came to stay with us overnight. She took us out to dinner at Panda Express(Yum!) and we watched Wall-e on our new tv.

Saturday:
-Maren had a practice/rehersal with the primary for the program.
-Parker went to the temple.
-Maren studied for way too long and took an infectious disease test.
-We hung out with Todd (Parker's friend and former roommate) and his girlfriend, Alayna, and played games and watched another movie.

Sunday:
-The primary program went awesome! The kids (all 4 of them :) did a wonderful job! Maren loves her calling.
-Parker wanted Jello so he made it (mostly) all by himself, and Maren wanted Blueberry pancakes, so that's what she made.
-Parker went home teaching.
-Maren prepared singing time stuff for next week.
-Parker did D&C homework while Maren did the dishes that had piled up over the weekend... way too many!! At least she didn't have to do them in a bathtub, right mom? :)

And here we are. The weekend's practically over and we're back to school tomorrow. I know our lives aren't super exciting, but we enjoy ourselves for the most part. :) I feel like we have a decent amount of free time (or at least relaxing time), but I feel so busy, and I know life doesn't usually slow down as we get older. I just need to try and take some deep breaths and enjoy life.

Pictures of our Apt. as requested

So... here it is. Our humble abode. Sometimes it's hard to get a good picture when I can't get far enough away to get the whole room in the picture... but hopefully you can tell what everything is.
Here's the view when you step in the front door...

Here's the living room and desk area... you can see Parker's newest toy we got on Wednesday. I wasn't really feeling well that morning and didn't go to my first class. Instead I rode along with Parker (who had called about 7 different walmarts looking for this particular tv) to go buy this TV. Well... after that I just decided to take the day off and be little reckless and irresponsible. I skipped all my classes and ate an iceburg eggnog shake and bought thing to do crafts... it was great. But I digress...

The kitchen is pretty open to the living room.

Here's our bedroom, sortof. Not a very good pic, but you get the idea. We don't have closet doors, so it looks a little messy.

And, the second bedroom... full of stuff.

No pictures of the bathroom because it's too small to even get a picture of half of it. Plus it's boring. Tub/Shower, Toilet, Sink. Blue rug. Brown Towels. You can imagine. :) And there you have it. Our little home. :)

Goodbye...

Parker and I said goodbye to our truck on friday. We didn't need to have two cars and decided the car was better than the truck on gas milage. It's still sad to think we don't have our very favorite car anymore.... but we'll survive. Here's a few pictures of us saying our goodbyes. :)

96%

Can any of you relate to this scenario? You have a test to take. You've studied hard, feel like you know the material backwards and forwards. You go take the test, feeling like you aced it, but then you get your score and it was horribly lower than you thought. Well... I thought that was what would happen to me with my infectious disease class (Since it happens fairly often), but to my amazement, it wasn't! For the first time I can actually remember, I got a good score on a test I thought I would get a good score on! I'm amazed, and excited, and wanted to share my accomplishment. That's all. :)

???

I'm not feeling very creative lately, or like my I have any idea what to post on our blog, so this is what everyone gets. :) Last weekend Parker was out of town with work stuff from friday morning to Sunday afternoon, so I was left to fend for myself. It was a pretty busy weekend for me. I hung out with my good friend, Kristen, on Friday evening. My sister, Anna, was supposed to be coming from Idaho that day too, but her ride left without her (rude, I know!) so she didn't make it down until Saturday afternoon. It was still good to see her. She hung out with me while I babysat for a few hours. Saturday evening Kristen and her husband went to the BYU game with me. It was fun to go, but not so fun getting slaughtered. It was a little rainy too, but not too bad. On Sunday I went to church and had my first experience in my new calling leading the singing time (with some assistance) in Primary. That's about it. For Halloween, Parker and I spent the afternoon at his Grandparents house, then the evening with our friends John and Kristin, playing games and watching scary movies. That's our lives of late!
