Parker had a birthday!

Parker is now 23 years old! This is a little late, (his birthday was the 24th, tuesday) but we've had a great time celebrating. I made a special breakfast that morning and then we went about our day (school stuff) then went to dinner with Gram and Papa that evening at a Japanese restaurant (where they make the food right in front of you and flip stuff around) then went over to our friends apartment where we watched a movie, and played games. They're great, and we were there for a while, so it was pretty late when we got home. I suddenly started to feel really sick, so I laid in bed while Parker opened his presents. He was pretty excited. :) The next day we went to dinner with Grandma Hilton at Macaroni Grill (delicious!). Thanks everyone for making Parker's birthday great! Enjoy the pics!

Living Scripture's Weekend

This past weekend we went to Vegas with living scriptures. Friday night we stayed in St. George, then drove the rest of the way to Vegas Saturday morning, stayed in the Luxor, then drove back to Provo on Sunday... We didn't get too many pics, but some highlights of the weekend include...

Walking around the strip... I'd never seen the conservatory (I think that's what it's called...?) at Ceasar's Palace, but it was awesome!

Running back to our hotel (from Ceasars palace to the Luxor) because we were late and running out of time to get to the show. It was crazy, but kinda fun, minus the super hot and sweaty feeling once we got there. :)

Seeing Criss Angel's Believe Cirque du Solei show (weird but entertaining... I don't really know what to say about that... Parker was very perplexed)

Pi Day!

Happy late Pi day everyone! Pi day, (March 14th) was pretty much an excuse for me to bake a pie and celebrate! I've never "celebrated" it before, so this was a brand new experience, but it was kind of fun. I think it could be a fun tradition to start having a Pizza "pie" accompanied by a homebaked pie once a year just because...

I made a chocolate cream pie that turned out pretty tasty (except I thought the crust was a little too salty and the cream was a little too runny... I'll just have to practice) and was planning on having pot pies for dinner, but the conventience of buying a pizza at Costco was too tempting, so we opted for that. We had a fun evening celebrating our little Pi holiday... even if Parker hadn't ever heard of it and thought it was a little rediculous. :)

Fun-Filled Weekend With The Family

This past weekend was great! Parker's parents and brother, Bobby, came to visit. Friday night and Saturday morning we watched Taylor (Parker's brother) in a couple of BYU Lacrosse games (BYU won both!). Friday night, Parker also had an intermural Basketball game (we lost, but it was a great game, and Parker played very well). After the game on Saturday we went up to Parker's grandparents house in Salt Lake for a family dinner/get-together thing. It was great to see so much family (and I was surprised at just how loud it could get... it reminded me of family reunions at my grandparents house). Later that night Bobby, Taylor, Parker and I went to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert. I highly recommend the Godiva chocolate cheesecake! The next day, Parker got a new calling, 2nd counselor in the sunday school. We drove up to Salt Lake again to hear his aunt and cousin sing in church, then spent time with family the rest of the day. We had a great dinner at our Aunt and Uncle's house, and played ping pong and basketball. We stayed in Salt Lake overnight and played late into the night. On Monday morning Parker's family had to go home to Arizona, and Parker and I had to get back to Provo for class, but we went to the Draper Temple openhouse on our way back. It was so great! Simply beautiful. Overall, it was a very eventful weekend, and we had fun... hopefully we'll get to see everyone again soon! Now for a few pictures....

We're going to Vegas!

We're so excited to be going to Vegas sometime in the next few months! Parker met the requirements (bring at least 3 people to a recruiting meeting, and have 1 get hired) for a living scripture recruiting incentive, so we're getting a free trip to vegas with a show for a weekend on them. We're looking forward to the trip, and all the other opportunities living scriptures will bring!

Car Shopping

Parker and I went car shopping yesterday. We heard about a liquidation sale and thought it might be fun to check it out. Having salesman trying to talk us into buying a car was a brand new experience for me... and I didn't really like it. It's kind of stressful... Anyways, we've pretty much decided we'd like to get a Kia Optima... or something like it. It will get much better gas mileage than our truck, which will be needed for our trip to Ohio this summer, and all the driving Parker will have to do for work. We'll see what sales we can find!
